Dynamic Cover System similar to games like Gears of War, etc. AI and players can 'snap' to walls and other points of cover, and shoot over them.

Adding places of cover in the game world to provide positions of cover. The player can then lean out by way of movement controls without detaching from the cover unless he/she removes themselves by pressing a button that detaches the player from cover. Blind firing like that in Red Orchestra 2 where the player moves the camera with the mouse and not the keyboard depending on the cover and if he is say on a sandbag wall or up against a wall will determine if the player fires above or to the side. This will also work with grenade. The player will be able to use the object he is resting against as a impromptu weapon rest to stabilize the weapon he is holding, This will make classes such as machine gunners helpful as they can find a sandbag wall and setup on it and lay down a field of fire. Snipers can rest on windows and fire as well.
